We give because children around the world deserve it.
EnSpice Children’s Foundation believes in a world in which children don’t have to be hungry. We believe in a world where children receive all the nutrients they need to grow and thrive.
When it all comes down to it, the core of why EnSpice Children’s Foundation gives of its time, talent and treasure is this: Children, our future, deserve their very best start. We want to invest in the foundation that will ultimately serve as the growth platform for our future leaders, teachers, someday-mothers and fathers, our doctors and nurses, scientists and entrepreneurs.
Our hope is that the children we serve will all share the common thread of a strong start through optimal nutrition, and that they will then pass on those healthy habits to their children. We want to see this cycle continue for generations to come.
While communicating our goals, plans for growth, and how we want to strengthen our work moving forward is important, understanding the heart and motives behind our work is of the greatest value to us. We recognize that our mission to combat childhood malnutrition in every region of the world through natural, healthy, sustainable nutrition is bold, which requires us as stewards of that mission to be bold in order to create measurable impact.
We recognize that “growing a culture of giving and community support surrounding our mission begins with us,” as our development consultant Karen said. All of our work is hollow if we don’t know at our core why we give to this mission.
Thankfully for us, our “why” has more than 60 reasons. At least 60 children depend on ECF for a healthy, complete meal with fruits and vegetables each day they are at school.
For Karen, giving looks like providing children well-rounded meals and the opportunity to try new foods and textures. It looks like helping to provide lunches so children with full mouths can laugh and talk over a meal with their classmates and friends.
For Amanda, our director of programs and partnerships, giving looks like less children in hospitals and more children playing in schoolyards. It looks like seeing kids able to play with one another, rather than needing to stay home due to a weakened immune system.
“It’s about keeping children nourished not just because we can - but because they deserve to be,” Amanda said.
For Megan, our director of communications, giving looks like sharing about all the leaps and bounds ECF is making so that children in Madagascar can make new leaps and bounds, too. It looks like storytelling and sharing with you the impact that full, healthy meals have on developing children. It looks like helping provide children the best path to their brightest future.
For all of us, our giving, while for the same cause, might look a bit differently. What does giving look like for you? Is there a way that you can stand with us to combat childhood malnutrition?
If you would like to help financially support the work we do to provide children's meals, doctor visits and more, there are four easy ways to give. You can make tax-deductible donations via Amazon Smile, Venmo, Mail and Online Giving.
